The pages in the dashboard are called categories, and the filters are called category objects.
You will need to be an administrator to do this, and to have access to the category you wish to add to.
Click the + button on the left of the screen.
You can then select the object from the data connection you wish to use.
There are lots of different types of filters that you can add.
