You should set the chart (can work for a table as well) as a parent chart.
Edit the chart

Click on the cog in the top left of the edit chart screen. Then you will see a tick box for parent chart.

Then save the chart.
In the top left hand corner you will have an antennae broadcast icon

Now selecting a block in the chart (or double clicking a row in a table) All elements on the page will now be filtered.
NOTE: if the elements come from different data connections they will try to filter using an object with the exact name (case sensitive) in the elements data connection.
NOTE2: The objects that pass parent filters are the selected items on the charts attribute page. (Tick to enable drill down filter)
